What does intimacy mean? Despite my love/hate relationship w/ wikipedia, she says it that it “varies from relationship to relationship, and within a given relationship. Intimacy has more to do with shared moments than sexual interactions…For intimacy to be sustainable and nourishing it also requires trust, transparency and rituals of connection….Intimacy is both the ability and the choice to be close, loving and vulnerable.”
Therefore, intimacy goes far beyond the four walls of the bedroom.
Well, I had an “intimate moment” in the car w/ Mark tonight. No, it wasn’t as you may imagine [i.e., the two of us fogging up the windows like Kate Winslet and Leo DiCaprio in the Titanic], it was just a good “moment”.
When we first got married,
I had the initial fear that we would run out of things to say after merely a year of being married.
Well, sometimes it’s true.
Neither of us has the nerve or audacity to blankly fill the room with useless words. If there’s nothing to say, we don’t say anything.
